HUD Housing Assistance Programs - The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers several housing assistance programs, including:

• Section 8 - A program that provides vouchers to help low-income households pay rent for private housing. The local public housing agency (PHA) manages the program and distributes funds to eligible households.

• Public housing - A program that provides safe and decent rental housing for low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The PHA determines eligibility based on income, citizenship, and other factors.
