Overview
A person may petition the court to seal his/her own records by filing a petition with the District/County/Muni court where the arrest and/or criminal records are filed. (See Colorado Revised Statute 24-72-703). These are the current sealing statutes:

C.R.S. 24-72-704: Sealing of arrest records when no charges are filed.

C.R.S. 24-72-705: Sealing criminal justice records other than convictions - simplified process.

C.R.S. 24-72-706: Sealing of criminal conviction records.

C.R.S. 24-72-707: Sealing of criminal conviction records information for offenses committed by victims of human trafficking.

C.R.S. 24-72-708: Sealing of criminal conviction records information for municipal offenses for convictions.

C.R.S. 24-72-709: Sealing of criminal conviction records information for multiple conviction records.

C.R.S. 24-72-710: Sealing of criminal conviction records information for offenses that receive a full and unconditional pardon.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation - Biometric Identification and Records Unit
The Biometric Identification and Records Unit (BIRU) of the CBI supports law enforcement agencies as well as the public. It is the responsibility of this unit to maintain and update all information stored in the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) used in the identification of fingerprints and the Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC), which houses all fingerprint-based Colorado Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) records. Colorado is an open records state, and this information is available to the public.
